Vaccination Requirements
We are thrilled to hear yesterday of indoor community sport being allowed from this Friday 6pm. While we will still be starting competition from the 6th of November, we will be providing an number of opportunities before then to get back into basketball. Stay tuned!
Please read the below important information about vaccination requirements.
Vaccination Requirements
The Victorian Government through the Open Premises Directions now state that any patron of a physical recreation venue aged 16 or over must be fully vaccinated. This includes any person, such as, players, parents/guardians, spectators, referees, coaches, volunteers and staff.
Those aged 15 and under are not yet required to be vaccinated. This means for U8, U9, U10, U12, U14 and U16 this does not yet affect the players. All other people must show proof of vaccination or a medical exemption.
Please read the below sections that are relevant to you or your family.
Domestic Competition
Saturday & Thursday (U8, U9, U10, U12, U14, U16 Competitions)
Players – aged 15 or younger are not required to be vaccinated at this stage and will not be asked for proof of vaccination. All players must still be checked in the QR code at the door.
Monday, Wednesday & Sunday Competition (U18, U21, Senior Competitions)
Players – at your first game, please have your vaccination certificate ready to present as you enter the venue unless you are under the age of 16.
This will be sighted by a SPBA Staff Member and marked against your PlayHQ record. In the near future this will allow players to not have to present their vaccination certificate if previously verified.
Note – you are required to bring your vaccination certificate every time you enter the venue, even if previously verified.
For players aged under 16 and not vaccinated. There will be a list of names at the door with date of births where you can check in and be allowed entry.
All Competitions
Parent/Guardians – Only one parent or guardian is permitted per junior player under the age of 18.
Upon entering a venue you will be required to present your vaccination certificate each time. Please remember, there are no spectators and a maximum of one parent/guardian per child at present.

Before your first game, please allow additional time incase there are delays in verifying vaccination certificates.
