Uniform Delays

Hi all,
We are contacting everyone who is awaiting a Beachcomber & Red Hill playing uniform order to arrive.
As many would have seen, some districts of China are in COVID lockdown and have been for the past month. Additionally this is also affecting exports from the country. As a result we are experiencing delays with your order.
At this point, it looks likely that your order will arrive for round 2 (or round 3 for those who have ordered in the past week or two).
We have contingency plans for this situation and if you do not have a uniform to wear for round 1, we will have alternate options, including:
- Before this issue came to light, we had already ordered 100 spare playing jerseys for teams to wear when they are waiting for uniforms
- We are working with neighbouring associations to borrow their spare jerseys
To give further background on the situation, the Red Hill & Beachcomber orders we are waiting for were ordered from late February (8 weeks ago). We wanted to order well in advance in case of a situation such as this. Orders usually only take 4 weeks.
Approximately four weeks ago we were informed by our suppliers, iAthletic, that the factory that they use for sublimated playing uniforms was in one of the districts that is currently under a COVID-19 lockdown. This was the week uniforms were due to be printed and dispatched to us. At this point in time, this district is still in lockdown.
Two weeks ago we made the decision with our supplier that we would get Beachcomber & Red Hill uniforms manufactured at their secondary factory. The timeframe of this was to endeavour to try to still have these uniforms by round 1. Since then there has been delays in exports out of the country. As a result it is looking more likely to be round 2 arrival.
All other apparel is made in Australia and has been unaffected.
As this is the first time SPBA has stocked Red Hill & Beachcomber club uniforms, we do not yet have any stock on hand. Moving forward we do not envisage any major delays such as this as we will have some stock on hand.
As more information comes to light, we will let you know.
We will be in touch next week about how the spare jerseys will work.
If you have any questions in the meantime, please let us know.
Kind regards,
SPBA
