What is Aussie Hoops?
Aussie Hoops is Basketball Australia’s official development program for 5-10 year olds. It is a program directed to kids of all skill levels and abilities and serves as an introductory to the sport of basketball. It is a 45-minute group training session in which we teach the basics of basketball. There is no structured competition play, but there are some drills that the kids get to play game like scenarios.
Aussie Hoops is played on lowered rings and with a smaller sized basketball than normal. We do this so that that we can properly teach the right fundamentals and give the kids the best opportunity to create good habits at the very start of their careers.
Aussie Hoops is intended to serve as a fun introduction to basketball.
Who is Aussie Hoops for?
Aussie Hoops is for anyone aged between 5-10 that is looking to get involved in Basketball. It is predominantly, but not limited to, kids that have not played basketball in a competitive structure before.
How many people can register?
