Peninsula HomeCourt Challenge Round 2 Results

PENINSULA HOMECOURT TOURNAMENT – ROUND 2 RESULTS

Another round of the Peninsula Homecourt Tournament is now in the books!

The return of school had minimal impact on participation with over 120 juniors taking on the challenge.

In the Three-Point Threat Challenge between Frankston and Southern Peninsula was the Blues who came away with the win.

For the Blues the scoring was led by Sam Shinsky, Alicia Vu and Noah McAteer, all with a score of 11.

For the Sharks Thomas Lewis came away with a score of 9.

In the Pull-Up Master Challenge between it was the Mornington Breakers that came out on top of the Western Port Steelers.

For the Breakers, Nicky Beattie led the way with a record time of 26.7 seconds was set.

This blistering time is currently good enough for 2nd place in the world. Well done Nicky!

While for the Steelers, Ben Fewster led with 40.2 seconds.

How the scoring works;

  • Top score earns 10 points
  • Second best score earns 9 points
  • Third best score earns 8 points
  • All the way down to Tenth best score earning 1 point
  • If athletes are tied for scores, they both get the points
  • See below an example;
Tom (SPBA) 42 = 10
Jim (SPBA) 40 = 9
Sam (MORN) 40 = 9
Fred (MORN) 39 = 8
Fred (MORN) 39 = 8
SPBA = 19
Mornington = 25

Round 1 Friday 10th April

  • Frankston Blues v. Mornington Breakers (67-67)
  • Southern Peninsula Sharks v. Western Port Steelers (60-50)

Round 2 Friday 17th April

  • Frankston Blues v. Southern Peninsula Sharks (177-48)
  • Mornington Breakers v. Western Port Steelers (50-5)

Round 3 Friday 24th April

  • Frankston Blues v. Western Port Steelers
  • Mornington Breakers v. Southern Peninsula Sharks

Tie-Breaker Sunday 26th April (If required)

 

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the Round 1 tie. The ‘team v team’ scoring system has changed. Winner will receive 3 points, draws both will receives 1 points, loser will receive 1 point.
