Hillier and Pollerd win Bronze

The Southern Peninsula Basketball Association congratulates our very own Director of Coaching and Pathways, Gerard Hillier and Senior Women’s player, Olivia Pollerd on their Bronze Medal win at the recent Basketball Australia u18 Australian Junior Championships.

This is the 3rd medal in as many years for Hillier having won Gold in 2017 and Bronze in 2016 and is the 2nd medal for Pollerd who was a part of the u16 Women’s team that claimed Silver in 2017.

Olivia finished the tournament with 22 x 3 point shots made, the second most for the tournament.

Victoria Metro won the Gold Medal over South Australia Metro who claimed the Silver medal.

The Country Victorian Men’s team lead by Head Coach Lucas Allen (Senior Men’s Head Coach), Assisted by Ben White (Senior Women’s Assistant Coach), Managed by Wayne Thornton (Senior Women’s Team Manager) and included Connor Graham (Men’s Team) finished 7th.

The Southern Peninsula Basketball Association congratulates all SPBA representatives on their efforts throughout their respective campaigns, it is a testament to the club, it’s pathways and the people we have involved to have so many representatives at a single Australian Junior Championships.

The next Australian Junior Championships will be the u16’s in July which will see Youth League Women’s Head Coach, Joe Turner lead the u16 Women as Head Coach, whilst u16 and Senior Women’s players Paige Price, Lani Thornton, Gemma Simon and Charli Dobson will lead the charge for the u16 Women.
