High Performance Tournaments Wrap

Over the holidays Southern Peninsula athletes represented Victoria in State Development teams competing at the Southern Cross Challenge (SCC) at the State Basketball Centre and the Australian Junior Country Basketball Cup (AJCBC) at Albury, NSW.
During these tournaments the athletes competed against New South Wales, South Australia, Western Australia and New Zealand. These athletes have been selected as a part of Basketball Victoria Country’s High Performance from the BVC Academy Program or BVC High Performance Trials.
Most of these representatives have been apart of the Southern Peninsula Basketball Association since Aussie Hoops or the U9 & U10 competition. Not only have these athletes been putting in many hours of work over the summer, but have shown great commitment to the improving their skills over the last twelve months. For many of these athletes, this is the step before making state teams.
A number of Southern Peninsula athletes also competed in Gold Medal games for their respective age groups.
