Big V Program Head Coaches Signing Announcement
The Southern Peninsula Basketball Association has wasted no time in re-signing, and signing, our Big V Head Coaches for season 2018, and beyond.
With the current Big V home and away season drawing to an end, the SPBA’s attention has turned towards the long term planning and development of our Senior Sharks Program, and the need to get the right coaches signed up to help take our program forward was paramount.
Lucas Allen has been re-signed to continue his great work with rebuilding our Senior Sharks Men’s Program, who look to go deep in to the playoffs upon their return this year. Lucas has also recently completed his second year as Head Coach for the Victoria Country U16 Boys Program, gaining invaluable knowledge that will no doubt help continually grow our Sharks Program. Lucas and his Victoria Country team claimed a silver medal at the 2016 Australian Junior Championships.
Gerard Hillier has also been re-signed and will enter his 4th year as Head Coach of our State Champ Women’s Program, who will be looking to continually build our Senior Women’s Program and develop our local junior players via the State Champ competition. Gerard has recently completed his 5th year as Head Coach of the Victoria Country U16 & U18 Women’s Program, who won gold at this years Australian Junior Championships.
Joe Turner is welcomed in to the Senior Sharks Program as the Head Coach of our Youth League Women’s Program, and will get to work straight away and develop our next generation of stars. Joe has also recently completed his second year as Head Coach of the Victoria Country U16 Women’s Program, who managed to claim a sliver medal at this years Australian Junior Championships. Joe brings a wealth of knowledge to our Youth League Program, which will no doubt benefit our young female players greatly in their development.
Assistant Coach positions will be advertised during the month of September, however all interested coaches are strongly encouraged to contact the SPBA and express their interest beforehand.
