The Southern Peninsula Basketball Association is committed to the safety and well-being of all children and young people involved in our programs and activities. This commitment extends to all members, staff, volunteers, participants, and other persons within our organisation. We support the rights of the child and will act without hesitation to ensure a child safe environment is maintained at all times.
We are committed to our compliance with the standards, as well as the culture and environment within our organisation is supportive and protective of children. Furthermore, SPBA is committed to creating environments where Aboriginal culture is celebrated and Aboriginal children, families and community members are welcomed and included.

How to Make a Child Safety Complaint
If you have concerns about the safety or well-being of a child or young person in our association, please follow these steps to make a complaint:
1. Contact a Child Safety Officer: Our Child Safety Officers are trained to handle complaints and concerns sensitively and confidentially. You can find them on our contact page HERE.
2. Fill out the Complaint Form: Provide detailed information about your concern or complaint. You can complete the form HERE. Alternatively you can email childsafe@sthpen.com.au.
We take all complaints seriously and will respond promptly to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all our members.
Keeping Young People Safe in Basketball
We have implemented the following measures to ensure the safety of young people during basketball-related activities:
Travel Form
For any travel associated with basketball activities, parents or guardians should complete a Travel Form. This ensures a team has all necessary information regarding the travel arrangements and the safety of the young people involved. You can download the Travel Form HERE.
Overnight Stay Consent Form
For any overnight stays, an Overnight Stay Consent Form should be completed by parents or guardians. This form helps the person overseeing to ensure that all necessary precautions are taken for the safety of the young people during their stay. You can download the Overnight Stay Consent Form HERE.
