Government Funding Secured
Southern Peninsula through the work of staff and Board members have secured government funding over the COVID-19 period to the sum of $20,000 to help the association through these tough times.
SPBA General Manager, Ben White said “Through the help of government we have been able to continue to work behind the scenes on building our association. Growing our programs, specifically around inclusion is a priority to develop during this period. Our vision is to provide a complete pathway for all, from grassroots to the elite.”
“During this time, Competitions Manager, Jenna McCormick has been working with clubs to build their structures. Having been involved with meetings this week with each club and Jenna, I am really excited moving forward with the work our club volunteers are putting in to grow our participation through new channels of the community. We fortunate coming out of this pandemic, to have such passionate people leading our clubs.” Ben White stated.
Although this funding has helped, we still need YOUR help to “Keep the Lights On” with the association having no revenue since March with many fixed expenses still in place. Over the coming weeks, Southern Peninsula will be launching a “Keep the Lights On” fundraiser through the Australian Sports Foundation to help us to hit the ground running when government restrictions allow.
