Return to Basketball – 18 6 20 update
The Southern Peninsula Basketball Association are delighted to share with our community our ‘Return to Basketball – Action Plan’.
As we are sure everyone is, we are absolutely thrilled to be returning to the court, and to the game of Basketball. This Action Plan is how the SPBA will approach our return, ensuring we place everyone’s health, well being and safety as our number one priority, whilst doing everything we can to get you all back on court.
It is important for our community, but also, the sport of Basketball, the we do this right. We do not want to face an issue where we are suddenly not able to enjoy our sport again, therefore, it is incredibly important that all of our community understands their responsibilities with the ‘Return to Basketball – Action Plan’.
It will be a requirement of anyone that enters our facility to of read through the Southern Peninsula Basketball Association’s ‘Return to Basketball – Action Plan’. Please ensure you take the time to familiarise yourself and your family with it to ensure the transition back to the court is as smooth as possible.
Please note: Domestic registration information will become available soon, and as stated in the below document, some dates are still dependant on final Basketball Victoria approval. We will continue to update everyone as changes come through.

In addition to the ‘Return to Basketball -Action Plan’, we have also developed the ‘Return to Training – Coaches Guide’.
This guide will work in conjunction with our ‘Return to Basketball – Action Plan’, however, is focused on how we best approach our return to training, in particular with our VJBL program.
There is significant information available about the effects of detraining, which is what all of our athletes have been going through for the last 3 months. The purpose of this guide is to provide a clear map of how to return to training in the safest way, with the long term being the priority.
