Melbourne Boomers Session at Hillview Stadium

As a part of Southern Peninsula’s official partnership with the Melbourne Boomers the WNBL team will be having an open practice and signing session at Hillview Stadium, Rosebud on Monday 19th December @ 6pm.
This evening is open to all SPBA members and is a great opportunity for all of our members to watch a professional sports team go about their business in the lead up to a game. Our juniors will also be able to see the level required to be a professional athlete.
This event will be great for all of our members, girls & boys, parents and siblings are all more than welcome to attend. You are more than welcome to take photos, however filming of the session is not permitted.
There will be a very familiar face out on the court training with the Melbourne Boomers, so keep an eye out for her!
This partnership will provide our junior female players great exposure to not only professional female athletes, but more so female mentors that they can look up to and follow. The partnership will provide a number of member/player benefits, such as the following:
1. WNBL Pre-Season Game @ Hillview Stadium, Rosebud – This was conducted back in September, and was a great afternoon of basketball at the Shark Tank.
2. Melbourne Boomers/Sharks Members Night @ State Basketball Centre – Sunday 22nd January @ 2.30pm – This is a FREE AFTERNOON OF BASKETBALL FOR ALL SPBA MEMBERS who attend the game in SHARKS GEAR/UNIFORM. For more information on this click here.
3. Melbourne Boomers Player Clinic @ Dromana Stadium – This will take place during February 2017.
4. Melbourne Boomers Players attending Junior Sharks Training Sessions – This will take place throughout February 2017
5. Melbourne Boomers Head Coach, Guy Molloy will also be providing coach education for all of our Junior/Senior Sharks Coaching Staff on multiple occasions.
As you can see there are plenty of great opportunities for our junior female players to interact with the Melbourne Boomers. Make sure you make the most of these opportunities and get along to the events!!!
The SPBA is pleased to be taking a proactive stance with female participation in our great game of basketball, and also providing our junior female players with great role models to look up to.
